Year 7 Literacy and Numeracy catch-up Premium

Which pupils benefit from the Catch-Up funding?

The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium gives schools additional funding to support Year 7 pupils who did not achieve the expected standard in reading or maths at the end of key stage 2.

How much additional funding is the school entitled to?

During 2015/16 we received £13,500 of extra funds.  The amount will be the same for 2016/17.

How will the school use the funding?

We will use our funding to support catch-up by:

  • Identifying slow progress following early identification of individual areas of weakness.
  • Providing additional in-class support by Teaching Assistants within the classroom.
  • Providing intensive small-group tuition in core aspects of Literacy and Numeracy (Intervention).

How did we decide what would be the most effective use of our Catch-up funding?

We used the following research to determine how we would provide for our pupils who are working below age related expectations:

Catch Up Strategies

How did we use our funding during 2015/16 and how successful was our strategy?
